WE HAVE SECURED THE PERFECT SOFT RELEASE SITE AND WE ARE PREPARING THE BEAUTIFUL LAND READY FOR THE CUBS TO BE TRANSFERRED AT THE END OF JULY/FIRST WEEK OF AUGUST.

THE LAND IS TOTALLY FREE OF RESIDENT FOXES CURRENTLY. THE AREA OF LAND IS QUITE DENSE AND ALREADY SECURE FROM HUMANS ACCESSING THE FOX DEN.

The monies raised will enable us to purchase some really vital items. This includes two high quality outdoor security cameras, PPE (personal protective equipment) and weatherproof storage for the PPE and food supplies to be kept for easy access at the enclosure entrance. Hideaway huts are needed to try and mimick the wild environment as much as possible. There will be a complete no human contact approach for the subsequent four weeks. The idea being that any contaminated bedding is removed and replenished DAILY and full removal and replenish by the volunteers atleast once WEEKLY. Ideally whenever a human approaches the enclosure the foxes will hide in the boxes during cleaning. Once clean; the food can be scatter fed around the enclosure and the large water container can be topped up. All other monitoring will be done via cctv.

Monies raised will be also used to cover the cost of the food supplies and shelter thats still needed for four weeks at the soft release site

Depending on the actual “move in date”, the enclosure door and the lands main gate will both be left open around the end of august/first week of september. It will remain completely open and accessible for a few days and the cameras will be monitored just to ensure they have all successfully dispersed and to be absolutely certain no further supplement support is necessary.

The soft release items will then be stored (somewhere) in preparation for next years baby cub season!
