As many of our friends know, my Daughter River has shown a natural talent and passion for Dancing, Singing and Performing from a very young age. Having lost her Daddy in an accident when she was just 11months old, and more recently her Grandmother (my Mum died just before Covid hit), River has used dance and music as a way of expression and chanelling her emotions. River is also a very high energy child and needs to move often. Dance especially helps to harness this energy which can frustrate her if she is sitting still for too long! We recently found a prestigious Theatre Arts Workshop School near us, however after a free trial (which she loved and excelled at) they told me it was £26 a week. I thought that was rather hefty for a 3 hour Workshop - but I have scrimped and saved in order to be able to afford tomorrow's 3hour session, putting my needs on the back burner, including not being able to afford a taxi to and from a hospital appointment today and re-arranging my appointment date for after half term. However, today I checked in with the Theatre Group only to find that for River to continue - I need to pay termly - upfront. And also buy a brand new uniform including their professional jazz shoes. I cannot currently afford to pay termly as I am on benefits, and struggle with my mobility due to a worsening spinal fracture (it costs £14 there and back in a taxi) which I am awaiting help for. I am starting this Just Giving page in good Faith that we can support River to nurture her Dreams, and thrive in her confidence as a natural Dancer, Singer and Performance artist in a way she can be recognized, overcome the current obstacles put on the Arts Industry due to Covid, and be a beacon of Hope to others.
