    Story

Follow the Rambling Rev, Darryl, his wife, Sharon, and friends, Richard and Helen, on an inspiring, epic journey, spanning approximately 157 miles along the scenic Rob Roy Way and the majestic Great Glen Way, in the Highlands of Scotland!

They will be embarking on a remarkable charity walk, raising money for our local Fell Rescue Association and the United Parish of Upper Nidderdale to which they belong (the money will be shared 50% to each charity).

Organisations like the Fell Rescue Association are called upon when people need them the most. As avid walkers our adventurers are keenly aware of how important their work is and would like to support them.

The United Parish of Upper Nidderdale, with its six churches hold a special place in their hearts, and are undergoing major works which are costing a lot of money. Your support is crucial for the mission, ministry and upkeep of the churches and churchyards.

Together, let's support those who seek to keep walkers safe and at the same time, help preserve our churches and churchyards, and ensure the incredible work that the Church does continues for generations to come.

Let's make a difference, one stride at a time!

The Great Glen Way – Day 5 Drumnadrochit - Inverness 21.5 miles We started the next ascent, skirting a hill at first and then entering another beautiful, pine woodland and starting a steady and increasingly strenuous climb. Our starting photograph was taken with an atmospheric Loch Ness and Urqhart Castle in the background. Inverness came into view and we had mixed feelings, as our two week adventure was coming to an end. We arrived at a tablet similar to the one we started the trail with, and our epic adventure was over. Until next time.

The Great Glen Way – Day 4 Invermoriston - Drumnadrochit 14 miles We woke to glorious sunshine again and, after breakfast, caught the bus back to Invermoriston our end point for yesterday's walk and start for today's. There was no easing us into this, we were straight into a climb that just kept giving, and giving, and giving. Whether you are used to climbing big hills or not (and we are), you would have to admit that this is a strenous, long climb. Fortunately the views from the top were amazing. It was another lovely, if long day.

The Great Glen Way – Day 3 Invergarry - Invermoriston 16.75 miles The walk continued past the Invergarry Hotel then up a steepish switchback path on a lovely forest track and we saw two Ospreys messing about in the sky. Fort Augustus was lovely and then we were walking alongside Loch Ness. When we arrived in Invermoriston we stood on a lovely old bridge and watched the river rapids where we watched as a salmon tried swimming up a waterfall.
