“Fighting for Every Day: The Battle Against MND"
In the quiet moments of the night, as the world sleeps, there are those whose battles rage on silently, relentlessly. Among them are the brave souls facing the monstrous adversary known as Motor Neuron Disease (MND).
Imagine a life where simple tasks like tying shoelaces or sipping a cup of coffee, or more importantly a beer, become Herculean challenges. For those afflicted by MND, this is the harsh reality. Every day is a battle against a ruthless opponent that robs them of their strength, independence, and ultimately, their lives.
Meet (purple) Dwayne. A young, vibrant, funny, kind, loving newly wed of three weeks, full of life, and with dreams as vast as the sky. But MND came crashing into his and our lives, like a tidal wave, leaving him grasping to make some sense of what this means for him, his new wife Kerry, and 10 year old daughter, Evalyn. Now, every day, and every simple task is a victory, every moment a testament to his unwavering courage in the face of adversity.
Our family has been shattered, dreams adjusted, and futures uncertain. The financial burden of MND treatment is staggering, leaving our family grappling not just with the emotional toll, but also the daunting costs of care, equipment. We previously raised £3,000 for the MND Assiciation and much needed research. However, we now find ourselves with a personal challenge, with the cost of home adaptations for Dwayne to access his home reaching the dizzying heights of £50,000!
We invite you to join us in this fight. Your support can make a world of difference to our family. With your help, we can fund vital resources and help us battle this cruel disease, and replace the immeasurable despair with some hope.
Together, let's stand with Dwayne, Kerry and Evalyn as we fight for every moment, and every precious memory. Because in the face of MND, every ounce of support brings us one more day when its grasp doesn’t feel quite as tight, and it’s impact quite as devastating.
Join us in the battle against MND and in a fight to lessen the toll on this young, wonderful family. Together, we can make a difference. Please 🙏🏼
