I've raised £1000 to support Positive Journeys Seniors & our annual events

Positive Journeys Seniors is Bexley’s forum for young adults leaving our care which is now in its 7th year! Young Leaders who are members of Positive Journeys Seniors have continued to achieve through the work of the forum; coproducing a programme of activity to prepare young people for adulthood, delivering training to a range of professionals about learning from lived experiences and realising their goal of going on their first week-long team building residential trip in March 2024.
Our annual Positive Journeys Seniors fundraiser is to help raise funds to empower young adults leaving our care to broaden their impact through new projects, as well as building on their tradition of hosting annual events, including 'Annual Achievement Awards' to celebrate children in our care and young adults leaving our care.
Christmas is a time of joy and giving and we also want to share this with our young adults in Bexley who are leaving our care, and who may be in need of additional support. For a young adult who has been in care, Christmas can be a time of greater hardship and isolation, especially for young adults who live alone.
Goals for 2024-2025 include:
Hosting a wonderful Achievement Awards event for children in our care
A residential trip to support the learning of Positive Journeys Seniors, and to welcome new members to this forum
A Christmas celebration event for care experienced young adults leaving our care (aged 18-25)
Hosting special Christmas celebrations for children in our care and young people leaving our care, and
Christmas care packages for young adults leaving our care who are experiencing greater isolation and hardship over the winter period
