Story
I'm going to ride the Etape Loch Ness (66 mile cycle around Loch Ness) on April 23rd 2017 to raise funds to help the P6 & P7 Peebles Piranhas Rugby teams to go on a 2 day end-of-season tour at the end of May. They are lined up to play West of Scotland on Saturday and play in a GHA tournament on Sunday. The money raised will go towards food, travel & accommodation.
It's an important part of these boys' rugby development to play against a range of different teams, to see how other teams are setup and to broaden their general rugby skills. Spending a night away from their parents allows them to develop their independence!

8 years agoWow! That felt like a 66 mile sprint! I hardly saw any of the loch - all just a blurr!! Great ride tho! Race time of 3h 32m 41s which I'm very chuffed with! I'm also amazed at how much you have all donated to my cause - a massive Nessie hug to each and every one of you!! I hope the Piranhas are competing well today at both the Currie and Gala tournaments!

8 years agoWell the training is all but complete. The bike is prepped and my bags are packed for the trip up to Inverness for the ride on Sunday! The weather is looking cool, breezy from the north west and a chance of some showers. Fingers crossed that the snow I saw on the forecast has the secency to wait until after I've finished!!! So I've smashed my fund raising target and am well over £250!!! A huge thanks to all those that have donated to the cause!

8 years agoOn Thursday night rode out to Selkirk via Traquair and back home on the back road south of the Tweed. 71kms before bed! Nice to be back out in the evening hours! Many thanks for the generous donations! I'm now over half way to my target with a week to go!!
