Story
Phoenix Food Shop Festive Hamper Appeal
At the Phoenix Food Shop we provide a weekly shop for our members which provides them with food worth approximately £40, including fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, cheese and eggs, bread and store cupboard items for the modest price of £7.50 per week.
With the Festive Season fast approaching, we are aware that this can put an additional strain on household finances. However, we again prevail upon you to extend your generosity and goodwill to those who use the Phoenix Food Shop on a regular basis. Our members represent a cross-section of the community ranging from old age pensioners, families on universal credits, low income workers, those with health and mental health issues and children with special needs.
Our catchment area is phoenix estate lower hanover Tanner and Hyde residences in central Brighton.
Our aim is to provide Christmas hampers to cater for over 250 individuals which will include fresh meat, nutritious vegetables, special food items and small toys during the holiday period at an affordable price. To cover the costs, we are looking to raise £3,500. Your support in helping us to achieve this figure will make an appreciable difference to the enjoyment of the holiday for all our members.
The Phoenix Food Shop, a volunteer-run food project, committed to providing low-cost food, will be in its fourth year of providing festive hampers to deserving families.
Therefore, we are asking for donations, no matter how small or large, to help us in this aim and make a huge difference to our members.
