    Story

On Thursday 22th December 3 of our Alpacas, Oberon Arragorn and Theo suffered horrific injuries to their throats and faces when they were attacked by a dog. All 3 survived 5 hours of emergency surgery although it was touch and go for Arragorn. Please help us to raise funds to pay for their care and ongoing vets bills. You can follow their progress on our facebook page Petlake Alpacas of the New Forest.
Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated

Fantastic News, the vet is so happy with the progress Theo and Arragorn have made she's discharged them. We're still treating the wounds once a day but she doesnt need to come out anymore unless they take a backward turn.

Very sad news, you all know how worried we've been about Oberon, Yesterday we had to make one of the worst decisions ever, and say goodbye to him. We'd taken them all in to Seadown in Hythe for additional surgery and it was found that Oberons wounds hadn't progressed as we'd hoped and they were in fact too severe to recover from. We will all miss him dreadfully. Theo and Arragorn are recovering slowly and we expect Arragorn will need additional surgery next week. So I have to say a huge thank you to everyone who's contributed so far.

A positive update -For those that are unaware this started with an attack in October, the most seriously injured alpaca was Felipe, we didn't expect him to survive, but with the expertise of some fabulous vets and constant care he's pulled through. So we are still hopeful we can nurse these 3 back to full health. This is him on Christmas day. You can still see the scars on his neck, but his fleece is growing nicely, we are hoping and praying in a couple of months we can say the same about Oberon, Arragorn and Theo.
