    Story

Pulborough Rugby Club is proud to support girls rugby. Starting from a handful of girls seven years ago we have grown to now have the largest girls section in the County.

This year the Under 15 girls team are working hard to raise funds for their first ever team tour. The location of the tour is Bristol and they have set themselves the challenge of cycling as a team the 233 miles to Bristol and back on static bikes.

We see touring as part of the young player's development, an opportunity to play other teams from a wider geographical area and also to bond more closely as a squad.

The tour is planned for March and the team have been given the opportunity to watch Bristol RFC play Gloucester RFC at Ashton stadium and also to watch Bristol Ladies vs Wasps. Bristol Ladies have also offered to host a meet and greet for the girls which is a great opportunity for the girls to meet their role models, some of whom play for England. The weekend will also give the girls the opportunity to participate as a team in a girls rugby tournament as well as participating in team building activities at the Activity Centre in which they are staying.

Parents are paying for the girls accommodation, travel and food costs but we are carrying out fund raising activities to raise funds for additional costs such as tour shirts, match tickets and to help make the tour affordable for all girls to attend.

Please support the girls by sponsoring them to take part in their bike riding challenge. Thank you!

Well done to the girls who completed their goal of riding the distance to Bristol and back on static bikes last Saturday. A big thank you to Tesco's Pulborough for allowing the girls to ride in their foyer, to South Downs bikes for lending us their static bikes and to all of the Tesco customers who so generously supported the girls on the day.
