    Story

The Provincial Grand Lodge of Perthshire West will be raising funds for local groups and charities within the Province by walking The West Highland Way from the 22nd to 27th September.

Provincial Grand Master Willie Semple and Jim Alexander from Perthshire West will be accompanied by Jack Drummond of Lanarkshire Upper Ward to take on the entire 96 mile trek together with other members from Perthshire West who will join them over the six day walk.

Every year members of Provincial Grand Lodge raise money which is then split between the 13 Lodges in the Province. This money is then donated to good causes within their local communities.

Previous recipients of donations from the Province include Trossachs Search & Rescue, Aberfeldy First Responders, Dementia Friendly Dunblane, Kincardine-in-Menteith Primary School, Thornhill Football Club, Strathearn Cares and many more!

Well, that’s the first 20 miles done. A great day starting at 7am Milngavie then through some great countryside, over Conic Hill, ending up in Balmaha. Had a dram of Loch Lomond overlooking its namesake to celebrate. Thanks to everyone who has donated to support our efforts, it is much appreciated! Thanks also to our PGL Pipers for seeing us off at such an early hour. Willie, Jim and Jack.
