Story
I am writing on behalf of the Harlow family, specifically Neil Harlow. Anyone that visits Hythe will know that Neil has been a familiar face in the high street for a long time, running the independent refill store U-Weigh for the past 36 years.
This April, Neil unfortunately had a cancer diagnosis with a prognosis of 12-18 months. Neil has been receiving treatments over the past few months, however, due to complications of this and side effects Neil has unfortunately received a new prognosis of 2-3 weeks. This is obviously devastating news for Neil and his family, who rallied together in this difficult time, dealing with it privately and admirably.
With Neil's permission, I have created this page to offer a way for us to support his family during this incredibly challenging period. As they navigate the many arrangements and decisions with planning a funeral, any contribution - no matter how small - could help ease some of the financial burdens associated with Neil's future funeral costs. Should there be any remaining funds, they will be donated to the Pilgrims Hospice, a place that have provided Neil with compassionate care and unwavering support throughout his cancer treatment, pain management and ongoing palliative care. Your kindness and generosity would mean the world to Neil and his loved ones during this time.
Neil would like me to pass his thanks to all the loyal customers, supporters and friends he has welcomed into the shop over the past 36 years. U-Weigh continues to be open, business as usual. Neil's daughter Maddy, whom many of you will have already met when visiting the store, has taken over the reins and will be managing the shop moving forward.
Although many may want to contact Neil and the family, please allow them privacy during this difficult time.
