My name is Zubeida and my family were affected by the earthquake in Amizmiz, Morocco.

On the night of 8th September, a devastating earthquake of a magnitude of 6.8 shook Morocco, hitting the areas of Marrakech and villages around the Atlas Mountains. Our town was severly damaged as well as 128 neighbouring villages including Talat n Yacoub, Ouirgane, Amargazane, Azrou, Talilit, Imitiguinza, Ouadakar.

Many a families who we have previously supported through Abwab al Rahmah's food parcel appeal lost their homes and sadly many are still being sought under the rubble.

In Amizmiz alone, houses have fallen and trapped families, many have died and many are homeless.
Young children were heard calling for help, and sadly were trapped below the rubble
People were injured and unable to access the hospitals so were treated in the open air.

The news has confirmed atleast over 2000 people to have died, however aid towards the remote mountainous area is challenging and slow. The roads are treacherous and the earthquake has blocked many major roads.

Abwab al Rahmah is working alongside The British Moroccan Society in Morocco to raise funds and distribute emergency aid.

We are raising funds to send immediate aid:
-food parcels
-blankets
-Water
-tents, blankets and mattresses
-medication and medical aid.

Donations will be sent directly to Abwab al Rahmah to make the purchases and distribute.

We have volunteers already on the ground distributing food packages, but we need more support.

We have permissions to distribute aid in areas around High Atlas Mountains under trusted Morocco registered charity of Abwab al Rahmah. We are a 100% donation policy charity.
