I've raised £10000 to Help Steve Restore Forgotten and Uncared for Military Graves

We’re raising £10,00 for lost and forgotten military and everyday heroes across Britain.
In every corner of Britain, beneath an overgrown and neglected cemetery plot, lies a forgotten hero. They deserve our TLC.
Military Graves Restorer is a volunteer community project working across the country to renovate lost and abandoned graves.
We ask for your support with a donation – to enable some humane care for these neglected resting places of men and women, both military and non-military, who gave and dedicated their lives with service toward a better future for us all.
The story - Honouring the heroes of our past, present and future.
Steve Davies was at a family christening, “I wandered outside the church and came across the neglected, overgrown grave and grubby headstone of young Herbert Moore, an 18-year-old serving in the Rifle Brigade, who died six weeks before WW1’s Armistice.”
This was heartrending. No one had visited his grave in decades. Steve felt moved and honour-bound to return and tidy up Herbert’s resting place as best he could. He has made Military Grave Restorer his mission – to which he freely and passionately gives all his spare time.
Steve has now cleaned and renovated 32 graves of holders of the Victoria Cross; over 400 military graves [often 19th Century and pre-WW1]; raised funds for a headstone for a forgotten WW1 soldier, and helped install a headstone for the unmarked grave of a recipient of the George Cross.
A grave renovation can cost between £100-£500 and your donation will go directly towards the purchase of essential items, anything from a bottle of specialist cleaning fluid to repairing and refitting damaged headstones and memorials. Each grave needs a local authority’s consent, or a living relative to be traced, before it can be touched. Even donating a couple of quid will help towards necessary and often long-winded administration costs to get permission to restore a grave.
“Their name liveth for evermore.” Your donation can help make it so.
Thank you.
