Iʼve raised £13,129 to create a memorial fund in memory of Mia Ayliffe-Chung
- Funded on Sunday, 23rd October 2016

Story
The funds will be used in the following ways: our first priority is to get Mia's closest friend from the States to the UK commemorative event, along with a young woman who grew up with Mia and inspired her to travel, from Canada to the UK, as they are currently grieving in isolation. Then we're planning a donation to Mia's school to fund resources for children with special needs and a local memorial as a focus for those in the community who are grieving. If we have enough we will then make a trip to the Calais Jungle refugee camp to take resources to the children there who have lost so much, including homes and family members, and need basic educational resources.

It is now my intention to return to Australia using a portion funds raised through this appeal in order to speak to the media and representatives of the Australian Government about an exploitative system which requires central regulation.
