As you may be aware, we have been raising money to replace the play equipment in the village. Many of the items have been there for over 20 years, much of the wood is rotten and the equipment outdated.

To date we have raised £27,000 through local fundraising and events, donations from local businesses including Scott Pallets and On Your Doorstep, and grants from the Parish Council, Tesco and The National Lottery. But we have a shortfall of £5,000.

We need one final push to make up the balance and enable us to have a new play area installed by summer. We'd like to include a range of equipment to appeal to children of all ages and abilities which could include climbing frames, slide, swings (incl a basket swing) and zip wire. We’re also hoping to build a picnic area and footpath for easy pushchair and wheelchair access.

We are appealing to all Melbourne residents and businesses to support our fund and are asking for donations of £25, £50, £100, or more. If you or your business is able to help please send any donations before 30 April.

Enhancing this space will provide the village with an appealing outdoor area encouraging a healthier, happier outdoor lifestyle and contributing to the fitness of not only children but also the parents and grandparents in the community who bring their families to the park.
