Iʼve raised £160 to help fund a tennis wheelchair and day wheelchair for Matt who suffers from painful Ehlers Danlos Syndrome

    Story

Matthew my courageous son is 18 and since he was about 12 his health has continually deteriorated with a genetic condition called Ehlers Danlos. Before he became too ill he loved tennis and so last year he tried wheelchair tennis with the Tennis Foundation, it seems they saw potential in him and he's been chosen for the British development squad in 2017.

Matthew is in constant pain, he struggles to attend sixth form but still works so hard and I'm proud of him everyday. He has missed many things that kids take for granted, so with this opportunity we would love him to have what he needs to enjoy this to the full.

His health is now at a stage where he cannot walk far so we need to buy him a lightweight day chair for everyday use but more importantly a fitting wheelchair for tennis, he currently borrows a different one every time he goes and because of his leg length they are far from a good fit and it's impeding him greatly. They are just so expensive, so any help you can give us would be massive thank you x

Sad there isn't government funding for this. It's a great cause. Sport is such a great tonic for any illness! I hope you reach your target very soon!
