Madeira has had horrific devastation caused to many areas recently due to a fire carelessly started by a youth. Whilst we see this on the news the reality is many residents are uninsured due to poverty and a different way of life. Many have lost their homes, possessions and some their livelihoods. My Mum and Stepdad have lived in Madeira for over 10 years and whilst their home is unaffected many of their friends unfortunately have been. One of their friends who has devoted her life to helping animals and runs a kennels has lost her home, She is uninsured and has lost all her possessions. The kennels are unaffected and she continues to care for the animals with nowhere to call home herself. Who will help her?
