Lighting up Hamlet Court Road

The latest news - we are thrilled that we have raised enough to bring back the Christmas / Festive Season Lights to Hamlet Court Road. We owe a particular thanks to Southend Theatres for helping to get this project over the line and for their generous donation.

The lights are due to go up this week, ready for our Festive Friday celebration in the road on 22nd November. There will be choirs and we have asked as many shops as possible to stay open later and lay on their own celebrations. Please come along and join in from 4.00pm.

However, to get the lights booked in time we had to dip into our own funds, to the tune of £3000. This money would have funded other important community work in the road in 2025 so we are keeping the fundraiser open until the end of December. Any late donations will still really help this event and enable us to save these funds for our future community work. If you haven’t already donated please help if you can and be part of the locals who put the lights back up again this year.
