"The Kernos Centre makes suitable therapy accessible to anyone – with no financial constraints or restrictions to the number of sessions. We believe that therapy must be given sufficient time to be effective – and our clients always have the right to decide whether and when their needs have been met."

Kernos is unique. Clients pay what they can afford. The cost of living crisis has meant contributions over the last 12 months have lessened considerably. Kernos don’t set limits to the number of sessions that clients receive. This is so important. They are there to support until the clients needs are met. With thousands of people already seen and many more waiting, they need our help to make sure that they can continue to provide for the years ahead.

To mark World Mental Health Awareness Week and the 20th birthday of Kernos, I will be completing the 24 hour Three Peaks Challenge (14 October). Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon. 10 hours of driving and 14 hours of climbing. It’s going to be physically and mentally challenging (so don’t ask me for anything on the proceeding Monday at work).

I will be joined on the ‘adventure’ by a handful of amazing colleagues from Deutsche Bank and HSBC who have also been incredibly generous in giving their time and climbing for Kernos. Simon, Yannick, Dave, Andy and Stuart, thank you!

Those of you that know me through work will know I am hugely passionate about well-being and mental health awareness and I hope that you can support in any way you can. Every £/€/$ raised will ensure Kernos can continue to provide counselling to those in need and provide a platform for a (sadly) much needed charity to grow.

A few weeks ago at the Kernos AGM one of our counsellors read out a letter that a 12 year old client had sent her. “You have saved my life”. It was meant. This is why we are doing this.
