Story
Who leaves this world in their forties. With so much she has never done this is what is facing Julie. As our children said "Mum you are so unlucky" and she really is.
Julie was diagnosed with breast cancer at the early age of 34, Julie went through so much including chemo, radiotherapy and hormone treatment the first time round facing it all head on and battling with all of her inner strength. Having had a mastectomy she then lost nearly 7 stones in weight to enable her to have breast reconstruction surgery, again going through an agonising 10 hour operation.
On January 24th 2017 we had a special meal at home raising a glass of champagne to celebrate reaching 10 years of being cancer free. What happened next goes to show that you never really know what is around the corner. She had some routine blood tests which showed a very low blood count. Meeting various consultants and going through endless tests including a bone marrow biopsy it was discovered that her cancer had returned but not in the expected forms. Julie's breast cancer had returned in her bone marrow, meaning she was part of a very small group of less than 2% who have a tumour based cancer in their bone marrow. This left us devastated and then given the news that no one wants to hear, that she could have palliative chemotherapy to try to,help extend her life. (We will be putting regular updates onto this site to let you know how she is doing.)
This has left us in turmoil but as a family we want to make Julie's final time with us as memorable as possible and try to fulfil as many of her wishes as we possibly can. Please help me fulfil some of her final wishes including afternoon tea at the Ritz, an Italian meal in Italy and hear Andrea Bocelli sing live.
I would also love to surprise her with a honeymoon as 21 years ago when we got married we couldn't afford to go on one and she has always dreamed of the ultimate beach holiday.

8 years ago1st off the bucket list completed. We had a wonderful time at The Ritz and the afternoon tea was out of this world! 10 sessions of chemo completed. Number 11 scheduled for tomorrow. Blood transfusions seem to be needed more frequently. Met with oncologist and the cancer seems to be stable so carry on with chemo. That's all for now folks!

8 years agoQuick update for this week. Julie's chemo was cancelled Tuesday due to a mouth infection. Obviously she was very upset about this but chemo being administered while you have an infection can be life threatening. She is now on a weeks course of antibiotics so fingers crossed it will clear up before treatment next week. Look out for an update next week on the first dream to be realised!
