Story
If you could do one small gesture that you knew could impact someones life would you do it? If you could give someone a gift that potentially allows a husband to care and be there for his family when most needed would you do it?
On 5th September 2017, nearly one year after marrying the love of her life our friend was diagnosed with triple negative breast caner. Unfortunately this is the most aggressive type of breast cancer and has the highest mortality rate. Jolene underwent 18 weeks of chemotherapy and a mastectomy. Her strength was admirable. Due to the aggressive nature of the cancer, Jolene was advised not to proceed with fertility treatment but she miraculously fell pregnant last December and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl Emmeline, 8 weeks ago. Jolene has recently been in a lot of pain and has been given the devastating news her cancer has returned for a second time. At present she is awaiting further results but the prognosis is not looking good.
As friends we feel helpless so we are trying to raise as much money to ease her financial worries at this difficult time. We would like to think that if the time came for any one of us we wouldn‘t hesitate to do the same. Any contributions will make a difference. Thankyou in advance.

5 years agoIve had my 2nd chemo today and fingers crossed it isn’t as bad as last weeks I had a lung infection last week and also due to the sheer size of the tumours (one on my ribs is 10x12cm), I have fractured ribs and a cracked sternum. I had radiotherapy as a one off to help with the pain but this meant they can’t give me tablet chemo so I’m now on the weekly IV kind this will be for 12 weeks then I’ll go onto fortnightly. I thank you again for everyone’s support these past weeks, it’s been incredible, there are some wonderful people in this world

5 years agoWe are still trying to raise funds for our friend Jolene Patrick. Unfortunately Jolene faced a setback this week with having an infection in her lungs and fractured ribs resulting in being admitted into hospital. Jolene is in extreme pain and they are trying to ease the pain but now her starting cheemo has been delayed until the infection is gone😢 Seeing your best friend and new born baby with her in hospital is heart breaking 😢 Every penny is greatly appreciated ❤️

5 years agoJolene is starting tablet chemo on Tuesday but they are checking out any clinical trials that may be available first. They gave her the option of 2 chemos but tablets are less invasive, hopefully won’t lose my hair again with this type of chemo. They will give me 3 monthly IV treatment to attempt to heal my bones if the chemo is working. They have also gave me additional pain relief to attempt to get my pain under control. Prognosis is up to 12 months without treatment and 18 months to 3 years with treatment.
