Story
Friends,
Thank you for taking time to visit this page, set up in haste following the sudden death of Judith Tucker in a car accident in November.
Judith was not simply an outstanding artist, curator, teacher and academic, she was a life-force. She inspired and infected others with her passion and she was the most generous of artists, a catcher and giver of light.
We can think of no more fitting tribute than to add to her legacy by establishing an art prize in her name and in her memory.
Please do give what you can. Your donations will be managed by a small group of people, trusted and admired by Judith. Prof. Griselda Pollock, Lubaina Himid CBE RA and Prof. Harriet Tarlo will be part of that group.
For those who aren't familiar with Judith's work, you can find out more here.
"Her tremendous ability to body forth the living, entangled, glowing energies of the world in her unique and distinctive work is always astonishing".

1 month agoThe Judith Tucker’s Fitties memorial show at Cleethorpes Library, which Linnah Ingham was hugely instrumental in creating, was hung at the beginning of May and is on till the end of June. There is still time to visit - do go if you get the chance. Quite a few Fitties residents have been along. See one happy couple below, delighted to see their chalet feature in Judy’s work!

1 month agoWe are overwhelmed with the generosity shown by friends, colleagues and supporters, not only in donating to this Art Prize in Judy's memory but in working tirelessly to secure her legacy through shows, lectures, cataloguing and acquisitions. The list of those to thank is long. Meanwhile, work on the Judith Tucker Art Prize is progressing, with Griselda Pollock, Lubaina Himid and Harriet Tarlo as trustees, and in liaison with Judy’s colleagues at Contemporary British Painting. We will publish more details very soon.
