Story
I have decided to set up a fundraising page for my relatives - the Mizen family.
Known to many people because of their spirit and kindness, their story is also one of sadness.
Their son Jimmy was taken from them in a way I can't comprehend. He was murdered. This is something his parents Margaret and Barry Mizen have had to deal with ever since.
Instead of holding on to anger, they used this to start to raise awareness of knife crime and violence, talking to school children, tireless fundraising for the cause and setting up cafes across London when young people could be safe and could use the facilities to their advantage, keeping them off the streets as much as possible.
The JIMMY MIZEN FOUNDATION is a charity that helps young people and families who are struggling and the Mizen have been commended for their contributions to the community; they were nominated for the Pride of Britain award.
The family have had many hurdles to overcome and I learnt today that again one of their cafes (the new one in Ladywell Park), has been burgled and many of their items have been taken, even the coffee machine.
The family have been and still are going through a lot personally and I would like to do what I can to help raise funds for them to be able to buy what they need for future projects after so many knock backs.
Their spirit is incredible and I think it's time us, the community gave back xxx
Thank you so much xxxx

I had the pleasure of working with a lovely teenager, Jimmy. Will never forget him and will always admire the strength of Margaret, Barry and the whole family. Xx We could all learn a lot from them.

Hi, I'm Sophie, a relative of the Mizen Family. We were all distraught with what happened to Jimmy and have always been so in awe of the family and their achievements and their positive and hopeful spirit, even when times are at their toughest, like now. Lets help them xx
