Story
Jack is going to run a marathon for the Glebe Centre in Walsall!!!!
Jack has always been concerned about and affected by homelessness and he's decided that he'd like to do something to help this winter.
Over the course of the month of January 2021 he's going to run 26.2 miles, the equivalent of a marathon. He' have to work it around school and football commitments, plus the winter weather, managing at least a mile almost every day of the week.
Jack has only just started running so it will be a real challenge for him, motivationally as much as anything else.
The Glebe Centre provide support and services to homeless and other vulnerable people in and around the Walsall area. Jack is hoping to raise £100 to donate to the charity.
Any support gratefully accepted, even more so in these difficult times.

4 years agoDay 31 - The Grand Finale! To finish the month Jack wanted to hit 100km. That meant a 4 mile run after a tough 3.5 miler yesterday. So he decided to push and go for it and instead he clocked up his longest run yet with 4.5 miles. Taking him to a grand total of just over 103km in 31 days. This from a kid who could barely run 2 miles a month ago, who was aiming for 40k at a push. To say I'm proud is an understatement.

4 years agoDay 28 - 2 miles Day 29 - 3 more miles (one with the whole family) Day 30 - 3.5 miles A chippy tea to celebrate the big finish as the favourite Mermaid Fish Bar is closed tomorrow. Jack has now decided the final push tomorrow is to get the total to 62 miles (100km). Not bad when the original plan was for 26 miles! So a final 4 mile run tomorrow before a well earned rest day on Monday!

4 years agoDay 26 (late) and a slow, wet and slippery 2 miles. Not a lot of fun, but he got there. Day 27 (today) and after appearing on Walsall FC's official Twitter feed and in the local paper Jack received some more generous donations. This motivated him even more so he decided to go for his longest run yet to hit the 50 mile target. 3.5 miles later he did it! 50 miles in January done. With 4 days to go. He was so proud and happy and deservedly so, but decided to keep pushing himself. 55 miles in January here we come!
