Story

Anyone who knows the Reed family will have heard of little Ivy and the joy she brings into their life. You will have also heard that she is a brave little warrior who, unfortunately, has had to have more medical intervention in her 6 years than most people will have to have in a lifetime.

Ivy was born with a rare genetic condition called propionic acidemia, which affects all aspects of her life, she is tube fed every 4 hours day and night and receives numerous medications throughout each day.

Ivy can become ill very easily so has to be monitored very closely and mum is her full time carer, unfortunately there is no cure but a liver transplant can help reduce hospitalisations and improve her condition.

Since birth, Ivy has been looked after by a specialist team and of course her wonderful Mummy and Daddy. Ivy has had numerous operations and interventions to help manage her condition and has recently undergone her biggest surgery to date with a liver transplant. Ivy is currently recovering at Leeds hospital and will continue to do so for the next few months with her Mummy and Daddy by her side.

This situation will have extensive financial implications for Carl and Pip as they need to continue to pay their bills whilst also funding additional living costs as they remain at Ivy’s bedside.

Carl is trying to get back to the salon as much as possible but naturally his heart is pulling him back to Ivy.

At this stage we don’t know what further intervention Ivy may need and therefore can’t put a time on how long she will be in hospital for.

We have set this page up in a effort to ease the financial pressures that the family are facing at this time. If you are able to donate in any way however big or small, it would mean the absolute world to the family. We know everyone is struggling more at the minute and can’t thank people enough for any donations.

Thank you so much in advance and if you could send some positivity Ivy’s way, I’m sure it won’t go a miss
