Soooo, in a moment of madness I agreed to take part in a bike ride across Britain.

Coast to Coast.

In. A. Day.

It's called Chase the Sun North and we start at sunrise (04:27!!!) on Saturday 22nd June, with wheels in the North Sea at Whitley Bay and don‘t stop till we hit the Irish Sea at Ayr. It's a race against time; we have to get to Ayr before the sun sets. 205 miles. 17 hours. Simples 🤪.

This is a personal challenge but I want to do some good along the way. Shrewsbury Ark is a local charity who provide a lifeline for people who find themselves in crisis. It doesn’t matter how they got there, the fact is that they are there, and often a little help can make the ultimate difference. I am fortunate enough to have a roof and family and food (and a bike!) but I never take that for granted. But for fate and circumstance any of us could be in the same boat. I‘m fairly sure this is the first charity event I’ve undertaken since a fun run in year 9!

We will have GPS trackers so you can follow the progress through the day - I’ll update this page when I have the link.
