Story

Celebrate International Women’s Day with Bob & Blether St Andrews and raise funds for Women’s Aid (Dundee)

KINGSBARNS BEACH 8th MARCH 6.30am – 9.30am

This International Women’s Day (Friday, 8 March 2024) Bob & Blether swim group, together with Wild Scottish Sauna and Cambo House, will take part in a charity swimrise at Kingsbarns beach and a Breakfast Workshop with “Mother Manifester” Bunny Loveshock. Following on from the phenomenal success of last year’s charity swimrise at Castle Sands in which around 70 women entered the North Sea at sunrise in freezing conditions, this year’s offering can be enjoyed both in and out of the water.

All proceeds raised will be donated to Women’s Aid (Dundee) and we invite you to offer whatever you feel able to afford*.

HERE IS WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES...

£5 could help purchase materials for a child to take part in a children's group activity like baking or an arts and crafts project to gain confidence and encourage involvement with others.

£10 could help provide an emergency pack for a woman fleeing domestic abuse. In many cases, women turn up at DWA with only the clothes on her back. This could help to provide essential items.

£25 will enable a woman in crisis with no access to funds to buy food for herself and her family

£50 will enable a woman to buy clothing, shoes for herself and her children if she’s fled her home with nothing.

£100 will help run interactive workshops, to explore choices and behaviours that build a healthy relationship; helping children and young people understand what domestic abuse is and how it may affect them.

£250 will contribute to the cost of an adventure break in Scotland for children who have had their childhood blighted by domestic abuse.

Let’s mark this year’s International Women’s Day by seeing how much we can raise to support local women and children on their journey to recovery.

In a world where you can be anything, Be Kind ❤️

Thank you.
