Story

Dear Supporters of Accademia dell'Opera Italiana,

Thank you for your unwavering support. We are dedicated to cultivating the next generation of opera talent through immersive training and performance opportunities, both in London and Italy. Founded by baritone Massimo Modoni and pianist Brian Hughes, our association has launched and participated in 15 musical events in its first year, supporting young artists as they embark on their careers.

Our flagship programs include the Summer Campus in Nardò, where students participate in the full production of a major 19th-century Italian opera. Set in a historic opera house, this program immerses participants in the grand titles of Italian opera, offering a unique opportunity to perform in a professional setting and deeply understand the language and cultural context of these masterpieces. In 2024, we are thrilled to present Pietro Mascagni's "Cavalleria Rusticana," directed by the celebrated Italian Director Marco Bellussi and led by Chorus Master Emanuela di Pietro.

In London, our Belcanto Bootcamp short masterclasses provide an intensive and focused experience. Led by renowned artists like soprano Nila Masala and tenor Alexandre Naoumenko, these sessions refine participants' technical skills and stylistic interpretation. In addition to vocal training, the program includes seminars on industry-related topics such as finance for singers and media relations. These masterclasses culminate in a public performance at Lauderdale House in London, offering a platform for young talents to showcase their skills.

Join us in sustaining the magic of these musical evenings and educational programs! Your generosity helps us continue to offer these opportunities free of charge, ensuring unforgettable experiences for all involved.

While we sail onto our second year and we are setting up as a register charity, we thank you for the incredibly kind support

Two unpassable evenings as only Hughes and Modoni can create. I was enthralled and enchanted by all of you and quite especially by your guest Yuka.
