Story

We are the first Northern Irish Team to compete in the Talisker Atlantic Challenge, the worlds toughest rowing race. The race which starts in December from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to Antigua is a distance of 3000 nautical miles.
For full details www.atlanticcampaigns.com.
Our boat is 7metres long and just under 2 metres wide with only a small cabin for protection against storms. Once the race starts we cannot take on any food, water or repair during the crossing, this will be a constant battle of sleep deprivation and physical extremes.
As a team from Portrush we are very aware of the contribution that the Portrush Lifeboat makes to the local community. Each shout costs on average £6000 and all money comes from charitable donations. As a seaside town all volunteers and crew are our local unsung heros. Our challenge is to raise much needed funds for our local station and also some other charities very close to our heart, namely Row for Ross and Willies Orphan Fund.

We thank each and everyone of you for your kind donations.
