Story
On the 6th and 7th of May, coaches Chris Bint and Jack Ganley are undertaking a 24 hour 'tennisathon' in order to raise money for Hinckley Town Tennis Club. The challenge means they must be playing tennis on court for 24 hours straight.
Hinckley Town Tennis Club is a small four court tennis facility looking to raise funds to keep contributing to the community. The club offers a chance for tennis enthusiasts to play, whilst also offering a social hub for everyone. This small club has a huge membership for its size, with adults and juniors, some as young as three, using the facilities. The coaches regularly travel to local schools to run free tennis activities, and the club offers a range of sessions suitable for any ability, allowing everybody the chance to play tennis, including those with physical impairments. On top of this the club is opening up it's facilities over the summer for two days to enable the school games to take place. The steep rise in memebership over the last few years is proof the club is reaching more people than ever before. In 2016/17 Hinckley Town Tennis Club won the most league titles, becoming the most successful in Leicestershire, enabling players of all abilities to play competitive tennis. Head Coach Chris Bint was also awarded Leicestershire 'Coach of the Year' for his contribution to coaching at the club and around the county.
As with any social club this success can only continue with the help of fundraising and charitable donations. The club relies heavily on community support and in turn offers a lot back with the chance for everyone to play tennis and join in socially with the tennis club family. The club truly is one of the most welcoming places in Leicestershire, with members who are passionate about ensuring the club grows and reaches as many people as possible. Any donation would be greatly appreciated and any support of Chris and Jack on the 6th and 7th of May would be tremendous.
