    Story

    Update - 25/07

Jacks future treatment will consist of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. A lovely doctor has offered jacks first session of this treatment for free, however, moving forward the second course is £8000. Dave and Lisa are aiming to get an oxygen chamber installed at their house, this will bring a further cost of £38000.

Jack will also require private physiotherapy. The costs associated with this are currently unknown. Thank you so much to everyone that has contributed and shared.

    Update - 11/07

Jack has managed to breath on his own, this doesn’t change his palliative care plan just lengthens it, his time is extremely limited due to the rest of his issues.

This makes it all the more painful, he will deteriorate over the coming weeks/months but there is nothing that can be done for him

He has mild heart issues, seizure, dystonia and pain meds, he cannot swallow or cough, he is brain dead with a heart beat.

My heart is breaking watching my lively, fun loving boy slowly and painfully fade away, I want to save him, iv always saved him but this is beyond even me

He's in a grey area with no time limit on how long it will take so children’s hospice won’t take him, hospitals are short term so the palliative care gave us 2 options, take him home or foster him…that isn’t even up for debate.

I am pushing every way I can to get a home suitable for his needs, fundraising is to make any adjustments and additions to get him home, so his sisters can read to him, we can show him the love and care he deserves.

Lisa is training over the coming weeks to be his end of life carer. He was one in a million and he’s doing it even at the end.

    Update - 03/07

Jack Dolan drowned at Margate beach 23/06/24 he is left with severe brain damage causing a vegetative state and dystonia!

    - Jacks life support will be removed 03/07/24

    - Jacks body is strong. So if he can Breathe unaided his body will continue.

    - Lisa his mum has been given the option of residential, put him up for foster or take him home

    - If Jack survives this hospital stay he will come home as Lisa will not be deserting her son now. And can’t be in residential with him.

    - Jack is in a vegetative state and will need care until he passes. His life expectancy is very limited but unknown. No one can predict how this goes , This is cruel. Jack is dystonic, he is in pain which they will hope to manage, But he has no quality of life but if he doesn’t pass Lisa will take him home in the near future, he will remain on palliative care and Lisa will be trained to care for him until the end.

Jack has 2 little sisters age 8 & 10 who not only loose their brother but for the hospital stay their mum.

What the Dolan family need help with is the push to finding a disable friendly home, and a wheel chair for jacks needs, whilst maintaining and creating a new normal for his 2 sisters.

These things can take months/ years. Let’s get them home asap.

** As people may be aware Lisa and Dave's son, Jack, suffered a tragic accident last week, unfortunately an MRI scan has shown there to be no brain activity and is currently in the process of being moved to palliative care.

This has crushed his family. As I'm sure everybody can understand, both Lisa and Dave are going to have to take the foreseeable off of work to take care of other priorities.

They have made the impossible decision to let Jack go peacefully and live on in our minds and hearts as the Jack we all knew and loved. This fundraiser is to raise money for them to help ease the pressure of upcoming palliative care and future funeral costs to give Jack the send off that he deserves. This will hopefully be one less thing for the family to worry about.

As most know Jack is a complete ADHD kid and the biggest Joker, with a heart of gold. He loves to show off in front of girls and won't leave the house without doing his hair - although it makes him look Polish half the time haha.

He loves his family, will do anything for his sisters and this fundraiser is to take a little bit of the burden away from them.

Many people love Jack and I'm sure they all wish the family wasn't going through this right now, so If you can donate, even a pound, we really do appreciate it.

    Thank you.

I hope and pray that Jack continues to make progress in the way he has to date. As a fellow patient of the amazing Dr Pender, I have faith that he will do everything he possibly can to help Jack.

Sending Jack best wishes for his recovery, and power to his family's elbow to support him and each other through this. As a mum of teen boys myself, it's every parent's worst nightmare. Much love ❤️
