Frank "The Tank" is a fawn pug who is as gentle as he is clumsy. he contracted an eye infection in France last year and despite normal veterinary attention, it became very serious and he was taken to Bordeaux to a specialist vets' practise that has a lot of experience in Frank's problem.
It was 50/50 if he would lose his eye..
Over the following 24 hours they removed the bacterial infection and packed the eye with pig skin cells on the basis of regenerating part of the eye.
It's a very intricate process and Frank was very lucky that the vet in charge was an expert.
Frank stayed there for 3 days and all the other pugs- Lily, Piggy, Spud, Burt, Tilly and Lo-lo were worried and kept looking for him, especially Burt who is his best friend.
Luckily the graft took and Frank was allowed home to them for a lot of r and r. He had to sleep in a travel cot and wore a collar all the time.

There were frequent trips to Bordeaux for after operation care and plenty of drugs and pills and tests over the past 3 months.
Frankie now has a strong chance of getting up to 80% of his vision back in the eye- which would be wonderful BUT it involves further procedures and a potential final bill of around £1800, of which I have part, along with the tunnel and driving costs

I will be driving Frank back down at the beginning of May and just hope that I can raise enough for him so that he can complete his treatment and not bump into as many things.
