Story
Our beautiful 2 year old daughter Eliza has severe stage 4 Neuroblastoma, a rare and highly dangerous infant cancer. As is usual with this form of cancer, it has spread throughout the body into the bone marrow. When we first came into hospital she was in a serious condition and in severe pain arching her back to stop the tumor pushing against her organs, it was horrific. My heart was broken into a thousand pieces and I spent the first few weeks desperately trying to make a plan to fix Eliza in between completely falling apart. The more I researched the more I came to realize that even cancer as aggressive as this can be treated as she is so young especially if given a helping hand at every stage of the treatment, so at this stage nothing is a foregone conclusion.
Specialists have told us that there is a clinic in Germany that can offer Eliza post chemo 3 week immune building treatment to give her every chance possible. There are also new developments in the field of neuroblastoma in the US, currently unavailable on the NHS,such as targeted chemotherapy and immunotherapy techniques that are being carefully considered at every stage. For now we are starting with a specialist diet, supplements and equipment that helps her immune system fight the cancer and limits the damaging effects of 'Rapid Cojec' one of the most intensive front-line chemotherapy protocols in modern medicine. It is expensive but together with her cheeky determination it seems to be working! Eliza has developed a great sense of humor, is happy and laughing as she has not done for many months. We want to do everything we can to give her the best chance. With this treatment, the chemo and Eliza's amazingly positive character, she has made huge strides forward in her overall health. The battle is not won, but we feel we are on the right track. We cannot thank you enough for taking the time to read Eliza's story and if you can help so Eliza continues to shine a positive light on this world.

8 years agoWow, thankyou all so much for helping us reach our target! Eliza is doing amazingly well, she has sailed through the first round of induction chemo, avoiding most of the side effects we were worried she might suffer. She has responded really well to the chemo (helped by her very healthy diet, raw juices, supplements and exercise we're sure), far exceeding the doctors expectations. Scans last week show the tumour has shrunk by 90%, and the cancer in her bones is nearly gone, less than 1% compared to 80-90% cancer when she started treatment!

8 years agoThankyou so much everyone who has donated, we are blown away by the generosity and desire to help our baby girl. Eliza is doing very well, she continues to amaze us with her resilience and delight us with her sense of humour. She is reacting well to the chemo, and recent tests shows the cancer has reduced significantly in the tumour and the bone marrow. If the combination of chemo alongside daily raw juices, supplements, outdoor exercise and super healthy food continue to work their magic theres even a chance we'll be in Germany by Christmas

8 years agoAgain a HUGE THANKYOU to all who have donated, be it big or small, you are all very generous people. Robin and Maya would also like to point out that the Support that they have had from the staff, nurses and doctors a the Noah's Ark hospital for Children, especially on the Rainbow ward has been invaluable. So a big Thankyou to all the staff there. Eliza is at the hospital today, but heading home, tomorrow to be with her big brothers who absolutely adore her. Keep spreading the word, thankyou again xx
