The way I describe myself is, I'm a free spirit. I love to go and do the unexpected. In September I am starting my Adult Nursing degree at university but before I start my journey through the 3 years of hard work and intense studying, I decided to reach out and give my service to those in need.

A friend of mine served in Uganda 2 years ago and said it is the most unbelievable experience one can witness. She put me in touch with her Swedish friend who has now become the owner of an orphanage in Jinja, Uganda after the previous owners dropped out due to lack of funds. The orphanage runs purely on volunteers and is thirsty for more volunteers to come and provide their service even if it's for a short period of time and temporary. The children love to receive new people and they are very grateful for all the help and new skills volunteers bring them.

This summer in July, I will be going to the orphanage to serve these poor children and I would also like to take some supplies to them such as books and pens for them to write on and draw.

Sanon, is one of the local volunteers who helps run the orphanage. He recently sent me this message:

"Thank you so much sister for having that wonderful heart to support children. What you can do for them is to teach them, have fun with them, playing with them and teaching them new games. You can also tell them the love of Jesus Christ for them."

It all became very real for me when I received this message. Having a heart that's eager to serve others and make people smile, especially less fortunate kids as these orphans, I know I will do everything in my power to do the most for them in the week I am there.
