Hello everyone,

Our friend Hannah is very poorly. Her condition means that sadly she won‘t get the chance to see her newborn son, Rory, grow up.

We wanted to set up a donation page to benefit Rory Hawkins as he gets older, as a small legacy to show how loved his mum is and the lasting impact she has had.

Rory was born on 16th August 2023. Two days before, Hannah and her husband Tom received the worst news they could ever hear; the cancer had come back. Shortly after, they had the heartbreaking confirmation that this time, it was terminal. Hannah’s condition has since rapidly deteriorated.

Receiving her first cancer diagnosis in 2020, Hannah went through gruelling rounds of chemo through lockdown whilst still producing Capital Radio shows from home. After finishing treatment and thankfully going into remission in 2021, Hannah later went on to trek the Sahara Desert raising money for CoppaFeel, started a new job at ITV’s Lorraine working on their #ChangeAndCheck breast cancer campaign and most recently became a mum.

We thought the most fitting thing we could do amongst this devastating situation, is gift Hannah a donation pot with some money in it that will be given to Rory by his family when he is old enough. He may wish to donate it to a cancer charity, or put it towards Uni or travelling etc.

Hannah is an extremely talented producer, an inspiring, kind, supportive colleague, and a brave, powerful woman. The news of her health is unbelievably sad and very difficult to put feelings into words for everyone she knows. Whether you’ve worked directly or indirectly with Hannah, please do think about donating some money to this page so that she will know her legacy as an incredible colleague will have a small benefit to her son.
