Here at Ayr Guinea Pig rescue and rehoming centre we receive piggies from all over scotland into our care. Some come to us from loving families who just arent able to keep them any longer and some not so lucky. Some are healthy and some need emergency vet treatment but all this unfortunately costs. With over two dozen at any one time costs can be expensive, especially with hay, food, fresh veggies and medicines.
We are currently registering ourselves as a charity which will help boost funds but until then we are looking for your help so we can continue helping those little guys and girls who need our help.
We will never turn away a little piggy in need no matter what but to do this we need your help.
Our cost for food hay and fresh veg a week is usually around £50 and vet fees can be anything from £30 upwards. Bedding alone is approx £10 depending on how many wee piggies we have in our care so this can go up. Housing, tunnels, toys are continual costs as we want all our piggies to enjoy life while they are in our care, then there is overheads like the electricity.
