    Story

What should have been a summer break at the end of August 2016 turned into a living nightmare for our family. After arriving I noticed my husband, Gordon's, skin was very yellow and took him to a doctor who sent him straight to hospital. The doctors found after countless tests that his bile duct had narrowed and he needed to stay in hospital to have a stent fitted. With the hospital 45 mins away from the holiday cottage we rented, it was clear I needed help with our 3 children under 8yrs so our parents travelled 350 miles to us.

Then, what should have been the last day of our idyllic holiday, we were given devastating news that Gordon had a tumour on his pancreas. How could my husband who felt fine have cancer? We were given a glimmer of hope when we were referred to a fantastic professor in London who was adamant he could operate to save him. This was scheduled for the 17th October and we looked forward to putting this behind us.

On the 7th October Gordon had his pre-op assessment and laparoscopy, and it was the results of this that broke all of our hearts. The cancer had spread and nothing could be done so the operation was cancelled. The doctor told us that we should start memory making and the photo above is one of many we took just after we were given this news.

The only thing left was the devastating consequences of radical chemotherapy, and devastating it is. Gordon is sadly not reacting well to the chemo, we fear that he may not be able to continue with this treatment.

Here is the reason for this page. There is an alternative therapy that is not available in the UK with fantastic results that our family has tirelessly researched. This may be Gordon's only chance, so we would ask if you could kindly donate whatever you can to help us fund this.

Gordon is not a celebrity, he is just my husband and best friend, and a wonderful Daddy.

    Thank you so much,
    Donna x

A massive thanks to Natty and Faye who ran the Wigan 5k to raise funds for Gordon. We can't thank you enough. Gordon has now had 10 rounds of Chemotherapy and is remaining in a positive frame of mind as we all are. However, the last 2 he has not handled well at all. It's a horrible treatment ! Please please please could you all keep sharing so we can get this alternative treatment for him. Also if anyone has any ideas or can help with fundraising we would be forever grateful. Thanks xxx

Gordon has now had 9 rounds of Chemotherapy but the last 2 have really taken their toll. What a horrible thing Chemo is ! He remains in a positive frame of mind as do all of his family. Please please share this page. We need your help. Another fantastic group of people fundraising to help Gordon. Standish Swim School who organised a sponsored Swim. Donna, Phoebe and Drew are in the photo. Thankyou all so much. Xxx
