A MESSAGE FROM FREYA:
The support given on this page from family, friends and strangers has been so incredible and there really are no words to express the gratitude we have felt. It not only provided my family and I with such needed funds to return home and for me to get back onto my feet again, it also gave us such great moments of strengths during some really difficult times.
It has been difficult to thank each and everyone one of you personally, but please know how thankful my family and I have been for your kindness. It really has meant the absolute world.
Should you wish to know more about what I’ve been up to in the past months and what is still to come then please follow the link to my website - https://freyabethclarke.wixsite.com/website.
I would also like to mention the following sites and charities, which have invaluable in getting me back on the road to recovery;

https://www.willowfoundation.org.uk

Should you wish to continue that warm and fuzzy feeling you achieve through giving back, it would mean the world to so many other families going through the same experience.
So, from all the Clarke clan, we would like to thank you again for all you have done for us and for all the support you continue to provide.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As you may know, the wonderful Freya Clarke packed her bags and jetted off to a new life in Australia at the end of September.
What was supposed to be an adventure of a lifetime fell short very quickly as within days of arriving in Australia Freya went to the doctors only to be admitted to hospital immediately and after some tests be informed that she had Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
AML is an aggressive form of cancer and Freya had to be started on her first round of chemotherapy just days after her being admitted to hospital.
Depending on how the chemo goes and how her blood results are, she may be able to return to the UK to continue her treatment.
With the diagnosis, the treatment and the having to be out in a different country, to say it’s a little overwhelming is no doubt an understatement. Her wonderful mum Chrissy has travelled out to Australia to be with her despite the uncertainty of when Freya will actually be allowed to travel back.
Chatting to Freya the other day, we put together a wish list and with your help I’d like to try and achieve it for her. Some of it is emotional and moral support, some of it is taking part in charity runs/sky dive but a lot of it involves monetary donations.
It would be awesome to be able to help Freya & her family during this time, and anything you can contribute would be great!
Any fundraising ideas would be appreciated too so please do get in contact if there’s any other ways you think we can raise money
I want to say a big thank you in advance for your help and support. Let’s get our crazy-gorgeous gal home and help her stick it to cancer!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since starting this page the main focus for raising the money has shifted primarily to cover medical & travel insurance as well as flights home. As you can imagine the cost of these are extortionate so I am now aiming for £15k and above! Really just want to get our wonderful Freya & mum home!
The support from everyone has been overwhelming - in a good way - and I can't thank you enough. Please keep spreading the word and please keep donating!
Thank you!

Latest update:
So those of you may or may not have known, but Freya has had a tough 3-4 weeks. She was admitted to and kept in the ICU (Intensive care unit) due to a mystery bug which doctors could not figure out what it was. Over this time she was on several antibiotics, kept sedated, had to be on a breathing tube/ventilator to name a few and all this on top of the leukemia that she was diagnosed with.
It’s not only been a tough time for Freya but for her family as well. Since the initial diagnosis where her mum Chris(tine) flew out to be with her, her sister & dad have also joined Freya out in Australia, for the foreseeable future.
Everyday has been tough for them, awaiting daily progress reports from doctors, test results and the likes. Seeing their gorgeous girl like that, a ventilator breathing for her was undoubtedly not easy. Each day, the fighter that she is, Freya has made small but positive progress.
Though it’s been an awful time for them all, the continued support and well wishes has been amazing. In the last few days Freya has made a significant amount of improvement. She’s not only finally off the ventilator but her throat is stronger is able to eat “normal” solid food!
But the best news is that she could be heading home very soon! The doctors seem very positive of this, and test results dependent our girl could be back in the next week or so, in time to start the next round of chemotherapy!
The road ahead is still a long one, but with her care being back in the UK where her friends and the rest of her family are, it will be the added support that Freya needs to fight the leukemia!
As we are now looking in to “last minute“ tickets with flight assistance for Freya the costs of this as well as insurance etc is significantly high. We are still raising money, even though we have exceeded £15k, as £25k is more realistic to cover costs
Can I once again thank you all. All those of you who have donated and all those who have spread the word. I know Freya will be in touch with you all directly to thank you herself as and when she can!
Every penny helps, so please please keep donating and please keep spreading the word. Share this link and whatever else you can do to get to the new target!
A merry Christmas to you all, you beautiful people. Have a wonderful time with loved ones and the likes - Freya is excited about a chilled day in hospital, watching Disney movies, with her loved ones around her - and here’s to what’s looking to be a fantastic 2018!
