Story
It's a time for giving. This Ramadhan there will be many causes that you will be supporting with your Sadaqah and Zakah. Please consider giving a small portion of your Zakah donations to help students who are supported by our hardship fund and help us build back financially.
Zakah for the Hardship fund:
As a charity our aim is to continuously improve the way we educate Muslim children and to make it accessible to all families. We give discounts to families who would not afford the fees without this support. These include single parent families and families without a fulltime income.
• 36 students helped this year
• £2592 given in bursaries this year

Sadaqah for paying off debt:
We are still recovering from the financial effects of the Covid pandemic which severely affected student numbers. The amount that we invested in terms of staff time to keep classes running through these difficult years would have costed us more than £50k to fund. Funds we did not have. It was only possible to get through it by operating in deficit and the patience from our staff regarding pay.
Our priorities were to retain our excellent teaching staff, who have trained and developed with us over many years, to build back strong madrasahs in the long term. We kept student to teacher ratios low and we teach a full and balanced curriculum without compromise. We also continuously spent as necessary on resources and further training.
Our needs
Our immediate fundraising needs are to close this year’s urgent cashflow deficit of approximately £5,000 and continue to raise funds to repay external Qard hasanah (loans) of £11,500. We will fundraise to clear historical debt in slower time.
If the real costs (excluding debt) were reflected in student fees, then the prices would be at least £125 higher per year. This is unaffordable and normally would be covered by the larger student numbers. As student numbers are increasing this problem will resolve in time.
Please donate
We ask you to allocate a small portion of your donations to our fundraising campaign this Ramadhan and to share our campaign with your friends and family.
Among the many noble causes worthy of your donations, investing in local educational institutions is a very important cause and highly important to our community’s future.
May Allah bless you and your family and accept your efforts and worship in this auspicious month. Ameen.
