Iʼve raised £3,429 to contribute to Fiona Braidwoods Memorial Bursary Fund at St Aidans College, Durham University

    Banwell, United Kingdom
Funded on Tuesday, 8th November 2016

    Story

Fi Braidwoods parents, Vicki and Kenny, have set up a bursary fund in partnership with St Aidan's College, in her memory. They have agreed that the bursary will support an undergraduate, from a non selective state school, who is passionate about learning at Durham University, and in financial hardship.

A few of us, (Fi's younger brother Euan, cousin Tom, Aunties Jo and Helen and Uncles Paul and Mark) are cycling 100 miles, over two days, during October half term, to raise money for this education bursary fund. We will cycle from Belgium, through the Netherlands to Radboud University, in Nijmegen.

It is utterly heartbreaking that Fi has not started university this year. The bursary fund allows all of us to connect with Durham as we would have done if Fi was still here. it is a comfort to know that Fi's name is known at St Aidans and that she will enable another young person, each year, to enjoy university life to the full.

Fi's family are extremely grateful for any contributions towards Fi's bursary fund. Thank you x

We did it! 47 miles on day one and 53 of day two. Through beautiful countryside, gorgeous small towns, beside rivers and through woods. It was a really lovely couple of days. Just one puncture and one steep hill (tough after 93 miles!). We carried our angels on our bikes and listened to Fi's music all the way. Thank you all so much. It is wonderful to know that fi's bursary will have such an impact at St Aidans just as she would have.

Last training, Holland next week. Travelling to Clevedon was a great time and we all enjoyed ourselves. Huge thank you for donating above and beyond our target goal, now there is no way we can back down! Love from Tom and Euan
