Story
Farsley Celtic Junior Football Club face eviction from their home of 25 years and having to change their official name. The consequences of these actions mean that almost 300 local children could be denied the opportunity to play grassroots football.
FC2010 Ltd trading as Farsley Celtic FC announced on 26 May 2016 that with immediate effect the partnership with FCJFC is terminated and that they intended to set up their own junior club. The day after, West Riding County FA confirmed that the junior club would have to change its name to accommodate the new club.
Farsley Celtic Junior Football Club is one of the largest junior clubs in Yorkshire, providing football opportunities for almost 300 local children at all levels of development. The club is a not for profit organisation run entirely by volunteers.
We desperately need to preserve the junior club and the name of this community focused institution. Please see our Facebook page @SaveFarsleyCelticJFC to understand the level of support for the club.
We desperately need to raise funds to cover the legal costs to defend ourselves, protect our young players and if the worst comes, try to find a new home.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
