Our little man Jack has had food intolerances/allergies from birth.His troubles fully began at 4 weeks old when he tried formula milk, from there we have worked out through 24/7 trial and error that he is Sugar,Starch,Dairy, Soya,Egg, Yeast intolerant.

Extensive research shows that something is causing this and it is possible that he wasn't born with the correct enzymes in his gut to break down foods.

His symptoms can be eczema, severe wind, stomach bloating, irritability, stomach pain, screaming, general unrest and unsettledness, and the daily one of explosive nappies and a interrupted sleep pattern when his gut is really inflamed.

In his nearly 2 years he has tried 18 different milks and nearly every food going but apart from chicken and broccoli they all cause a reaction which can be either instant or a build up over 2-3 weeks.

Some foods like carrots, 3 brands of crackers, and sugar free brands of sausages and bacon (there aren't many) he tolerates with mild reactions so for variety we use them. He cannot tolerate food additives or preservatives and now only drinks water.

His symptoms on paper are all usual for under 2's we have had to fight our way through hospital appointments to try and get help, we are now beginning to get somewhere but it has been a frustrating and hard journey and have found that some homeopathy techniques have relieved symptoms along the way.

As his family we've adapted to watching out for the slightest signs showing that a food is effecting his gut and then try to put it right, it is a constant task.His big sister is amazing at reading labels and knowing what Jack can and can't have.

There's so much I could be write but not enough space, basically our friends are now helping by organising a Netball tournament on April 6th 2016 and I,his mum, am running Hastings Half Marathon on Sunday 20/03/16 to help Jack move further through his journey towards diagnosis.
