We are fundraising on behalf of Emersons Green Junior Football Club to purchase a much needed life saving defibrillator. This piece of equipment could be the difference between saving a life or a family losing a loved one on the football field. Heart Attacks within sport are sadly quite common - I think most of us will remember the case of Fabrice Muamba collapsing on the pitch whilst playing for Bolton against Spurs. Thankfully Fabrice survived after the quick response of the medical crews on site – they had a defibrillator which saved his life!

Emersons Green JFC are very much a family friendly club based in the heart of the Downend/Emersons Green community with kids from the ages of 4 years to 15 years and this piece of equipment will be a vital addition.

Myself, other members of the coaching staff, parents and possibly even some of the kids are going to be involved in a "fun" sponsored cycle ride to raise money for this essential piece of equipment. Don’t worry though we won't be in any danger on the roads this will all be done on static exercise bikes which are kindly being donated and will be based at our clubhouse at the Walkers Field, Blackhorse Lane Downend.
