    Story

Edith was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease four years ago. She suffered from the inexorable decline in memory function and eventually became physically frail, particular after breaking her hip in a fall. She spent time in hospital for this and various infections and Walter was determined that she would spend her final months at home and in his loving care.

Edith taught art to children and adults, ran her own business and was a very talented watercolour painter and calligrapher as well as being a loving wife, mother and friend. Sadly Alzheimer’s took her away from us much too soon.

She died peacefully at home with family by her side on 7th November 2018.

We would like to raise a little money which, in her memory, will be donated to the Sellwood Gardens Memory Support Group in Horncastle and the Goulceby church restoration fund. Edith and Walter attended the memory support group which offers help and companionship for sufferers and carers of those affected by dementia and other memory loss issues.
