So many of us around the world watched with powerless horror as the USA elected Donald Trump as their new president, in what was the most vitriolic and bitter presidential campaign ever fought.

As UK residents, who had no real power to affect this outcome, we woke up on 9th November with one questions on our lips “How can we help?” The answer is #DonateNotHate.

We cannot change the outcome of this election, but we can change the future outcomes for those who will suffer as a result. We have chosen 5 charities to support and every penny you give to #DonateNotHate will be donated to them equally.

The charities are:

Planned Parenthood
is America’s most trusted provider of reproductive health care, dedicated to offering all people high-quality, affordable medical care.

Human Rights Campaign
Serves as America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve LGBTQ equality. By inspiring and engaging individuals and communities, HRC strives to end discrimination against LGBTQ people.

Border Angels
Is an all-volunteer non-profit that advocates for immigration reform and social justice focusing on the U.S.-Mexico border. It offers educational and awareness programs and migrant outreach programs

National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)
mission is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination.

Council on American – Islamic Relations (CAIR)
Mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
