PLEASE HELP FUND OUR SHORT FILM ON MENTAL HEALTH AND FRIENDSHIP.

We are raising money to fund our short film project- Don’t Lick The Walls, which is a short film adaptation of Kitty Rigg’s comedy/ drama TV show that champions mental health, friendship and disco! This project has been four years in the making and is Kitty Riggs’s first success in film making- produced by Jenny Berrisford at Scribble Creative Collective. We have great plans for the film including a premier, competitions and so much more!

The money will be used to support small and local businesses and charities. We want to give this opportunity back to others and support as many independent businesses and creatives as possible- offering film experience to people with no prior background in film, giving them their first break into the industry.

The money will be used to cover the cost of filming- paying professional crew members and actor’s expenses- we will also be sourcing costumes and props from local businesses and charities, keeping the money local and giving back this amazing opportunity. The film will be entered into short film competitions which industry professionals use to scout new talent (like us) - so this truly is your chance to make dreams come true.

Kitty Riggs is a 23 year old author and screenwriter from Cheshire who has published three novels- her debut novel: ‘What If Bowie Were A Woman,’ and two poetry collections: ‘Bamboo Til Two,’ and ‘The Kid In Colour.’ She has been working on her comedy/ drama script for four years now and has dreamed of working in the film industry for every single one of them.

The show is about being human. It’s honest and raw and champions friendship and understanding. Mental health has never been more relevant. It's never been more vital that we look after our minds and each other. Don’t Lick The Walls does this in an accessible and comical way- highlighting the realities of living with mental health and how it can affect those around them. This is why we will also be using our film to raise money and awareness for wonderful mental health charities such as ‘Young Minds’ and ‘Bags of Hope,’ that do invaluable work for those suffering with their mental health.

Making films is expensive and unfortunately there is little to no support out there. We want to make sure we can pay people fairly and cover expenses for all the creatives involved in the film. We want to create a production that feels like a family, where everyone feels valued and welcome.

I have spent my life dreaming of creating something that could help others and make them laugh and now I have been given this wonderful opportunity. Donating any amount will make our day. We want to create a film that can hopefully help make people feel less alone and have a laugh while they’re at it. Laughter, after all, truly is the best medicine.
