    Story

    Hello everyone 👋

We would like to introduce ourselves, we are Kevin and Lewis (father and son) participating in the 2024 Screwball (under a grand banger) Rally to raise money for defibrillators in schools in association with Coddington C of E Primary and Nursery School and the Friends of Coddington School Charity.

We are entering the rally with a 35 year old Bedford Rascal pick up for our challenge naming it the ‘Hearty Rascal’.

A real vintage, bone shaking, rather compact banger!

The Screwball rally is where over 50 cars participate each year for many different charities and have historically raised over £1,250,00. The rally will be covering 7 countries in the 2024 challenge including France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium. We will be covering over 1550 miles. Will your banger make it?

The name ‘Hearty Rascal’ comes from our decision to support the local community in providing funds for a replacement defibrillator in the local school Coddington C of E. Through the help of Friends of Coddington School charity number 1206570.

With your support and generosity we are hoping to raise sufficient funds around £5,000 to replace the current defunct defibrillator urgently needed and an additional defibrillator in alignment with community health recommendations.

If we exceed our target, fulfilling our initial objectives, we will be looking to extend this support to other schools requiring a defibrillator.

We strongly believe that defibrillators in schools (and local communities) are a life saving necessity and not just a 'nice to have' asset. These essential lifesaving items should not become additional burden's on our schools already challenging budgets.

Help us make a difference in whatever way you can!

The rally rules stipulate the vehicle entered must be a roadworthy banger under £1000 to make the challenge. We have made the cut with our Bedford Rascal pick-up truck!

Keep in tune with our journey preparing the ‘Hearty Rascal’ to see how we progress. 🚙🚙
