Story

Between 15 September and 17 November, we will be covering 1,501km (932 miles) on foot to raise money for Dog Valley Rescue Centre in Cyprus. Finishing with a non-stop 107km (66 mile) run from the border with Cambridgeshire to Southwold! We've set ourselves an ambitious £10,000 target but Dog Valley need even more, so please don't hold back!

We will be posting logs of the miles / km covered and update videos to our Facebook Page, so please follow us!

Since being founded, nine plus years ago, Dog Valley Rescue Centre in Cyprus have rescued and rehomed over 1,500 dogs, many of them to homes here in the UK. Recently, they have been told that their landlord wants to sell the land where the shelter is located. He has, however, offered them first refusal on the land. So, between now and March, they need to raise a substantial amount of money – 200,000 Euros.

Dog Valley is an incredible volunteer run organisation in a country where being a stray dog is unforgiving. Three of our dogs, Freedom, George and Velvet, are Cypriot rescue dogs and wouldn't be here without Dog Valley. In May, we lost our fourth, Mr Shy, who very sadly succumbed to lymphoma.

Without the likes of Dog Valley, stray dogs in Cyprus are sent to municipal 'kill shelters' where the outlook for these wonderful animals is beyond bleak. We need to keep Dog Valley open and we need to help the amazing volunteers there continue to do their brilliant work.
