    Story

    Hello,

My name is Carly and I am running the Bognor Regis 10k with my aunt, Nicola, to raise money for a few causes close to us and our family.

The first place we are raising money for is the Premature Baby Clinic at Chichester Hospital. My cousin, who is now 4 years old and called Willow, was born at 28 weeks. That's over two months early. She weighed 2lbs, the weight of a bag of sugar. My aunt lost just below 4 pints of blood, just under half the amount of blood the average adult woman has. They both wouldn't be alive without the help of the doctors, nurses, midwifes, physiotherapists and emotional support from everyone around at Chichester hospital. The hospital continued to offer help and support once they were both release from hospital around 2 months later.

We would like to raise funds to help other premature babies get the treatment and care they need and give their families and mums the support they deserve.

Another place we want to raise money for is Dizzy Ducklings nursery in North Bersted, Bognor Regis. This is the nursery my cousin has attended since she was 2. When she joined she couldn't walk or crawl and could talk but it was minimal. With a special thank you to Mrs Clapp who was eager to help, she now speaks with a mature, adult mind and can walk, run and takes part in weekly ballet classes! The nursery adapted their teaching to help and care for her and we want to raise funds so they can do this for even more children who were born prematurely and need that extra care and attention. She was given incredible support and they stood by her when even doctors were doubting her.

We would like to be able to fund new toys and equipment, arts and crafts supplies and even musical instruments and outdoor toys such as bikes and scooters.

Both these causes have changed their lives for the better, and I want to be able to say thank you in the best way possible.
