Story
Join us on our journey as we swap our football boots for hiking boots and prepare to conquer the mighty Snowdon, all in the name of two causes close to our hearts: Alzheimer's Research UK and the advancement of women's football at Coundon Court FC.
Coundon Court FC isn't just about what happens on the pitch. We're a community club driven by our passion for the beautiful game and our shared commitment to making a difference in our community. That's why, this June, we're taking on the challenge of scaling Snowdon, the highest peak in Wales, to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer's Research UK and our team's development.
Alzheimer's is a cause that hits particularly close to home for the team. Our captain, Tash Miles, knows first-hand the devastating impact of this disease, as her mum was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's in 2021, aged just 60. Tash's personal journey has inspired us to rally together and take action against this debilitating illness. By supporting Alzheimer's Research UK, we're contributing to vital research that could one day lead to a cure.
Quote from Tash: "Alzheimer's has had a massive impact on the life of me and my family, and continues to do so. Before my mum was diagnosed, I had no idea of how common and how devastating the disease is, and I don't want others to go through what im going through, so I'm willing to do anything I can to help fund research. And I'm so proud and grateful that my teammates are supporting the cause also"
As a team we've had some real success this season, with our best ever FA Cup run and launching new partnerships to try and progress the team both on and off the field. As the highest-ranked women's team in Coventry, we have our sights set on even greater heights. We're dreaming big and aiming for promotion to the national league, a big ask for a grassroots club without a semi-professional men's team to lean on. To achieve this goal, we need your help. The funds we raise will be split 50/50 between our team and Alzheimer's Research UK.
Your generous donations will directly support our team by providing essential resources, facilities, and equipment. Whether it's upgrading our training facilities, investing in top-notch equipment, or accessing specialized coaching, every contribution will bring us one step closer to realizing our dreams of success on the national stage.
So, join us as we embark on this epic adventure up Snowdon. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer's and propel our club to new heights. Thank you for your support!
